Garapa (Apuleia leiocarpa) is a fine-grained hardwood also know as Brazilian Ash. Garapa is sustainable grown in South America. Garapa is a beautiful light yellow to golden brown . As the wood naturally weathers, it takes on light silvery gray tones. This wood has a shimmering effect, and appears to shift from dark to light colouring in different lighting angles. Garapa has a Janka hardness rating of 1,650 and is resistant to rot, decay, splinters, scratches, and even fire – naturally without any chemical treatments.
